Frequently Asked Questions

How do you help the shelter animals?

We provide enrichment and other resources for the animals during their time at the shelter. Enrichment adds to the quality of life of the animals. We help provide enrichment for dogs, cats, guinea pigs, and any other species in need.

Why is enrichment important?

Pets at the shelter spend a large portion of their day in their kennels. Providing mental and physical enrichment keeps their brains and bodies happy and healthy while they wait for their forever families to come find them.

Is FGCAS part of the shelter?

Friends of GCAS is an independent, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and is not a part of the Guilford County government. However, we work closely with the staff and management at the Guilford County Animal Resource Center to implement enrichment activities, promote volunteering opportunities and increase awareness of animal welfare in our community.

How can I help?
